Operators are fundamental building blocks of any Programming Language.

in R , we have following Operators available for various processing & operations -

R Arithmetic Operators

+          : Addition

-           : Subtraction

*           : Multiplication

/           : Division

^          : Exponent / Power

%%     : Modulus ( Remainder from Division )

%/%    : Integer Division

R Relational Operators

<          : Less Than

>          : Greater Than

<=        : Less Than or Equal To

>=        : Greater Than or Equal To

==        :  Equal To

!=         :  Not Equal To

R Logical Operators

!           : Logical Not

|           : Element wise Logical OR

&          : Element wise Logical AND

| |         :  Logical OR

&&       :  Logical AND

Note - Operators & and | perform element wise operation producing result having length of the longer operand.
Whereas , && and || examines the first element only of the operands resulting in a single length logical vector output.
